On this day in 1905
Roland Hinton Perry's "Commonwealth" statue was installed on the Capitol dome. This 14-foot-6-inch bronze-gilded female statue has an image of the keystone which honors the State's nickname, "The Keystone State." Her right arm is eternally extended in benediction and blessing of the state.
